26-year old Denise Garrido from Bradford, Ontario, was crowned Miss Universe Canada 2013 during the 11th edition of the pageant held in Toronto on May 25th.Standing 1.76 m in height, Denise holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and has a degree in Biomedical Sciences with Cum Laude distinction. Her parents are portuguese/brazilian.
Denise is not new to the ‘Grand Slam’ scene; in 2010 she represented Canada in the Miss World competition held in Sanya, China, where she placed as a semi-finalist.
The 1st runner-up was Riza Santos and the 2nd runner-up was Sierra Bearchell. Michelle McKay and Diana Martin.
